  • Enriched Food Products: 

Anything in the market that labels itself as “Enriched” should be avoided. These enriched products are generally the result of experiments where food companies remove some of the important nutritional ingredients from the product to make it more suitable for consumers. But instead of making the product better, they rob the food of its nutritional elements. 

  • Fortified Food Products: 

Although “Enriched” and “Fortified” might seem like a similar meaning term but in fact, they are quite opposite of each other.

The products labeled as fortified should be avoided as well, as they are often pumped up with extra vitamins and minerals to artificially enhance the nutritional value of the food product.
